The Guide identifies equality and non-discrimination strategies that NGOs, lawyers and activists may employ in seeking to advance economic and social rights (ESRs) before courts.It is split into three parts; having introduced the rights framework, the Guide identifies conceptual and practical reasons why equality and non-discrimination arguments should be employed when challenging violations of ESRs, it then presents clear and practical guidance on how to use equality and non-discrimination strategies in courtrooms around the world.

In the Crosscurrents: Addressing Discrimination and Inequality in Ukraine is the fifth report in the Equal Rights Trust's country report series. It is the first ever comprehensive account of discrimination and inequalities on all grounds and in all areas of life in Ukraine. It is based on extensive field research including testimony and case studies from victims of discrimination across Ukraine. After its thorough analysis, the report makes a set of detailed recommendations for reforms to law, policy and practice to ensure equality for all.

In this interview opinions are contrasted on religion and equality between Ahmed Shaheed, Maldivian diplomat and politician and an expert on human rights and advocate for democracy and Eva Brems, Belgian university professor, human rights defender and politician. The interview was featured in vol 14 of the Equal Rights Review. 

Call for Papers - Equal Rights Review Vol 15

The Equal Rights Review (the ERR) is the bi-annual peer-reviewed journal on equality produced by the Equal Rights Trust. Launched in 2008, the journal is a resource for those seeking to combat discrimination or promote equality, be they academics, activists, practising lawyers, civil society organisations or others. Volume Fifteen of the ERR will be published in September 2015. We welcome contributions on all aspects of equality law, policy or practice at a national, regional or global level.
