#NoCOVIDiscrimination Initiative Grant Scheme launched

We are pleased to launch a call for applications for the #NoCOVIDiscrimination Initiative Grant Scheme.

As part of the Trust’s #NoCOVIDiscrimination Initiative, we are seeking applications from organisations working with and on behalf of groups exposed to discrimination for projects aimed at monitoring, documenting, and challenging the discriminatory impacts of State responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funding is available for civil society and trade union organisations registered in one of eight target countries: Armenia, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Paraguay, or the Philippines. With the support of the European Union, we expect to award up to twenty-five grants of between 3,000 EUR and 9,000 EUR. The purposes of the scheme are: (i) to increase the legal, technical and strategic capacity of selected equality defenders and organizations to (a) identify, document and monitor discriminatory impacts of State responses to COVID-19, and/or (b) challenge the discriminatory impacts of State responses to COVID-19 through advocacy or awareness-raising.

To apply, please review the Call for Applications and submit an application to covidresponse@equalrightstrust.org by 18.00 (BST) on 17 August 2020.

We continue to work to secure funding to expand the scope of the scheme, to allow us to support equality defenders and organisations in countries outside of those featured in the Call for Applications. If you are a civil society or trade union organisation in need of support to respond to the discriminatory impacts of state responses to the pandemic, please contact us at covidresponse@equalrightstrust.org
