ERT Submission to the UPR of the United Kingdom

The lack of a statelessness determination procedure in the UK; b. Immigration detention practices which do not take into consideration the unique context of statelessness; c. ERT Expert Opinion on Article 16 of the Moldovan Constitution sent to Acting President Ghimpu

This is an expert opinion on Article 16 (Equality of Rights) of the Moldovan Constitution which was sent to the Acting President Ghimpu of the Republic of Moldova. This opinion urges the Commission on Constitutional Reform to amend Article 16 of the Constitution to make it consistent with Moldova's international human rights obligations.

ERT legal brief on Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Bill

The Equal Rights Trust (ERT) has submitted a legal brief to Ugandan President Yowere Museveni outlining how adoption of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill currently being debated would breach both Uganda’s Constitution and its international treaty obligations.

ERT’s submission calls on President Museveni and Ugandan parliamentarians to reject the Bill in its entirety, and to review the constitutionality of section 145 of the Ugandan Penal Code, which is currently used to prosecute homosexual conduct.
