We are working to combat discriminatory torture and ill-treatment in Jordan, with a focus on the treatment of women and persons with mental disabilities.
This looks at:
- Developing the first report on discriminatory torture and ill-treatment of women and persons with mental disabilities in Jordan;
- Using strategic litigation to challenge inconsistencies in Jordanian law which allow the torture and ill-treatment of women and persons with disabilities to continue;
- Building the capacity of civil society and lawyers, having already trained 65 people on the relationship between the rights to non-discrimination and torture.
