This publication provides an overview of the activities of the Contact Point for Roma and Sinti Issues (CPRSI), which is part of the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. It notes that the CPRSI addresses the marginalisation of the Romani community in the OSCE region through targeted activities (including promotion of political participation, working with UNHCR on Romani refugees and IDPs, raising the profile of issues related to Roma through representation and coordination at the international level, dealing with the specific problems of Roma in the Balkan countries) and facilitating the creation of institutional framework within member states (such as the national contact points on Romani issues) to provide advice on policy making on issues related to Roma. It also specifies that the mission of the CPRSI is to promote the involvement of Roma in all its activities.
