This is The Equal Rights Trust's communication to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women concerning Solomon Islands, in which ERT formulates and motivates questions relating to equality and non-discrimination to be included in the List of Issues for the Pre-session Working Group of the 54th session of the CEDAW Committee. ERT called on the Committee to ask questions on: the lack of adequate protection for the right to equality in the current draft of the Constitution in the context of an ongoing constitutional review process; the need to introduce comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation; the need for coordinated action on violence against women; and the need to establish a National Human Rights Institution
