You can donate some of your time to charities that seek to deliver immediate relief to individuals in distress. 

Or, you can choose to advance a cause. You may wish to contribute to an organisation that seeks to challenge the deeper patterns of discrimination and injustice through carefully designed strategic interventions in countries around the world. You can choose to help change the rules of the game.
