Nepal

Nepal is one of 27 countries worldwide which maintain nationality laws under which women are unable to transfer their nationality to their children on an equal basis with men. Our work involves research into the impact of gender discriminatory nationality laws as part of a comparative study which also involves research in Indonesia, Kenya and Madagascar

We have conducted more than 50 interviews with women affected by gender discriminatory nationality laws and key informants from government and civil society. We published our findings in a key report My Children's Future: Ending Gender Discrimination in Nationality Laws
