The Equal Rights Trust works in partnership with equality defenders to secure the adoption and implementation of equality laws. For us, an equality defender is anyone – civil society representative, lawyer, journalist, government representative, philanthropist – committed to promoting a world in which all can participate on an equal basis. Between now and 10 December (Human Rights Day), we are seeking to raise £15,000 - £1,000 for our work with each of fifteen equality defenders

Over the next two months, we will profile each of these equality defenders, and talk about how that money will enhance and accelerate our work with them.

Gift Aid Your Donation Gift Aid Logo

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows us to reclaim the tax made on your donations at no cost to you, helping your donations to go further. If you are a UK tax payer for every pound you donate to us, we will receive an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue. This means for every £10 you donate we can actually claim £12.50. For £100 we can receive £125!

Eligible for Gift Aid?

We can only claim Gift Aid on your donations if you pay at least the basic rate of income or capital gains tax in the UK. You must ensure that you pay an amount of tax, in a year, equal or greater than the amount of tax that we will be able to reclaim on your donation (25p currently, for every £1 donated). If you are not a UK taxpayer, for example if you are retired or a student, Gift Aid does not apply to you.
